NECK LIFT AESTHETIC
In general:
Neck lift is an operation in which the entire neck skin and subcutaneous fat / muscle tissues, including the jowl area under the chin, are stretched, and excess tissues are removed, to correct wrinkles, sagging and loosening in the neck region.
For whom should neck lift surgery be planned?
Anyone who has significant sagging, wrinkles and shadowing problems in the neck area can consider this operation.
How long does the effect of neck lift surgery last?
Depending on the skin structure, it lasts for about 10-15 years. However, genetic factors, smoking, stress, daily living conditions affect the duration of the result.
What operations can be performed together with neck lift surgery?
Genioplasty should always be considered when planning a neck lift operation to obtain further improvement. Neck lift surgery is also often combined with other face operations such as face lift, blepharoplasty and eyebrow lift, lip lift, bichectomy and fat injections.
How is neck lift surgery performed, how long does it take?
Neck lift surgery is an operation that can be performed under local, sedation or general anesthesia. If the jowls are also a problem, a mid-face lift surgery should also be taken into consideration. Fat removal is achieved by liposuction. If only neck lift surgery is to be performed, the procedure takes an average of 1 hour.

The duration of hospitalization is 0-1 days.
Can non-surgical methods be an alternative to neck lift surgery?
Since non-surgical methods have a limited effect on the skin, they are generally helpful, not an alternative to surgery. We even recommend these methods after the surgical procedure. From the 3rd month after the operation, the patients can be treated with radiofrequency (with FDA -US Food and Drug Administration approved medical devices), botulinum and mesotherapy, etc.
Will there be any scars after the surgery?
The scars are planned on hidden areas such as the hairline, behind the ear and under the chin. After a certain period (generally 6-12 months), the scars become even less visible.
What should be considered before the surgery?
Those with chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, thyroid diseases etc.) should ask their doctors for pre-operative medication regulation. Patients with chronic diseases are required to have internal medicine consultation results at least 3 weeks ago.
The use of blood thinners, herbal teas, and supplements such as fish oil should be discontinued 10 days in advance.
How often should follow-ups be after neck lift surgery?
The patient is seen after resting at home for 1-3 days. Since patients generally have to come for control on the 3rd and 8th days, so patients coming from outside the city and abroad should stay in the city for at least 8-10 days.
What is the recovery process like after the surgery?
The results of the surgery and the feeling of tension on the skin will be noticed immediately. Edema and bruising are expected in the neck area. Swelling (edema) begins to gradually relieve after the 3rd day. All stitches are removed within 7-8 days after the operation, after which you can go out with sunscreen, but it is important not to spend a long time under the direct sun.
Make-up can be done after 2 weeks, and hair dyeing can be done after 4 weeks. Using cosmetic skin care products for 1 month and peeling and scrubbing for 3 months should be strictly avoided.
What are the risks of neck lift surgery?
It should not be forgotten that every surgical intervention carries a risk. Small drains can be placed behind the ears during surgery to reduce the risk of bleeding. In addition, there are rare risks such as numbness of the skin. Other rare but possible complications include seroma, suboptimal result, infection, bad scarring etc.
