In General:

The eyelid contains the thinnest skin in the body. Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of age- or genetic-related excess skin and bulged fat tissue and correction of ptozis. It also provides stretching of the periorbital soft tissues, improvement of the tear-trough deformity (deep folds under the lower eyelids) and fixing of the prolapsed tear gland. This operation can also help to improve vision in older patients, who suffer hooding of their upper eyelids. Eyes will appear fresher and more youthful after the operation.
Please note that: Additional operations such as fat injections, face lifting or subperiosteal midface lifting are often necessary to obtain optimal results from lower blepharoplasty.

Any swelling and bruising usually relieves significantly within 7-10 days (this varies from person to person). Vision may be blurred for a few days and eyes may be sensitive to light. Stitches will be removed at the end of the first week, and within another few days. Make-up is advised after 3 weeks of the surgery in our clinic.
